GENERAL INFORMATION

OBJECTIVES:
1) To provide railroad applicators the opportunity to review and update to meet the high-performance standards of both the Association and the accepting states.
2) To help new applicators prepare for initial certification. Mindy Shoults (email nrca.mshoults@gmail.com) works to gain acceptance of this program in as many states as possible. The program contains pesticide-related material generally suitable for Continuing Certification approval in Rights-of-Way.

CANCELLATION:  Purdue University is not responsible for costs incurred due to cancellation.

TRAINING MATERIALS:  Training materials for Session I, Core and Category 6 manuals, can be obtained from the Media Distribution Center, Purdue University:  888-398-4636.

CERTIFICATION EXAMS:  

HOUSING AND MEALS:  Meals are included in the registration fee; lodging is not.

TAX DEDUCTION FOR EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES:  Treasury regulation sec. 1.162.5 permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees, cost of travel, meals, and lodging) undertaken to (1) maintain or improve skills required in one’s employment or other trade or business or (2) meet express requirements of an employer or a law imposed as a condition to retention of employment, job status, or rate of compensation.
